With unparalleled brilliance, unmatched dedication, and a trailblazing spirit that has redefined excellence, we are beyond thrilled to announce Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma as the winner of this year's highest honor, EdaFace Prize, which incidentally is the maiden edition of the award.
A rising titan in the automobile field, a beacon of innovation, and a relentless force of progress, Mr Chukwuma has not only risen to the occasion – he is revolutionizing it.
Mr Chukwuma is the first Indigenous motor vehicle manufacturer in Africa and the Founder and CEO of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) in Nigeria.
Founded in 2007, IVM produces tricycles, cars, buses, and trucks, using mostly (about 60 to 70%) local components, and has recently started experimenting with Electric Vehicles (EVs).
IVM production Capacity has increased from 10 000 to 60 000 vehicles annually through automation upgrades, supplying vehicles to Nigerian roads, partnering with the Nigerian military and police forces, and expanding into other African countries.
IVM has become a symbol of African industrialization and innovation, earning the nickname “Pride of African Roads.”
