How to Mint Books, Songs, or Videos on BCL

Posted on 2024-08-09 Updated on 2026-07-13

A b-Book, b-Song, and b-Video refer to a book, song, and video, respectively, that have been produced via blockchain technology.

A b-Book, b-Song, or b-Video is not the same as an e-Book, e-Song, or e-Video, which are electronic productions. Click here for more information: BLOCKCHAIN LITERATURE.

To produce a b-Book, b-Song, or b-Video on EdaFace Blockchain Literature (BCL) is a relatively straightforward process.

The following are the simple Fourteen (14) Steps that you can take to mint your video, song, book, or any document on EdaFace BCL:

Step 1: Prepare your Literature.

Prepare your literature for minting in accordance with the EdaFace Minting Format.

The prepared literature will consist of a folder containing:

(1). Excel File Summary

(2). Literature File

(3). Preview File

(4). Thumb File.

You need a background image for your book, song, or video. This background image is called a Thumbnail (or simply Thumb).

Step 2: Register an EdaFace Account.

EdaFace Account is free.

Step 3: After registering an EdaFace Account, open EdaFace Blockchain Literature by clicking here: https://literature.edaface.com.

Be sure you are on the correct website.

Step 4: Connect your wallet to EdaFace BCL.

For assistance on How to Connect Your Wallet to EdaFace BCL, please click here: CONNECT WALLET.

Step 5: Click on the “Create” button.

Once you have connected your wallet to EdaFace BCL, click on the “Create” button to reveal the minting page.

Step 6: Select Books, Songs, or Videos, depending on what you want to mint.

Note that Book minting applies to all publications, such as books, documents, and certificates.

Step 7: Upload the Excel File Summary.

Upload the Excel File Summary as required during the EdaFace Minting Format in Step 1 above.

Step 8: Upload the Literature Folder that contains:

(1). Excel File Summary

(2). Literature File

(3). Preview File

(4). Thumb File

Step 8: Preview

EdaFace BCL allows you to preview the uploaded product by simply clicking on “Preview” or “View.”

Step 9: Select Blockchain Network

Network refers to the blockchain network you are minting on. Therefore, select the blockchain network for your minting.

Presently, EdaFace BCL supports Ethereum Chain and BNB Smart Chain (previously called Binance Smart Chain).

Step 10: Select the Collection Folder.

Literature on EdaFace BCL is collected in a folder.

If you have created a collection folder, it will appear in the dropdown when you click on "Select Collection." You can select the already created collection folder or create a new one by simply clicking on "Create Collections" and filling in the following details on the collection page:

(a). Collection Folder Name

This is the name of the collection folder and not your literature name.

Note that the Collection Name shouldn’t be too long, but something short and memorable for your targeted audience.

(b). Brief description.

Brief Description refers to what you want your book, song, or movie to be remembered for or associated with, e.g. it can be a description of why you created and minted the product.

EdaFace BCL does not restrict the length of the description. However, the industry standard is that the description should be less than thirty-five (35) words.

(c). Category

Select the BCL category and its subcategory for your minting.

The category refers to the arena where your minted literature will be displayed.

(d). Custom URL

This is a required link for your literature. If you don't have anyone, you can simply type in the name of your literature and any suffix, e.g., literature.com.

(e). Collection Address

This is optional. If you have minted your literature on another platform, you can reproduce it on EdaFace BCL by pasting your literature link (the URL) here.

(f). You may add your social media link to your collection folder.

Step 11: Royalty

Decide how much you should charge for royalties. For upcoming creators, as a promotional tactic, you may want to keep your royalty fee at 0%, meaning no royalty charges as an advertisement strategy.

Step 12: Lazy Minting

Confirm if you are Lazy Minting or not.

For more on Lazy Minting, click here: Three Kinds of NFT Airdrop on EdaFace.

Step 13: Quantity of NFTs

Type in the number of copies of the b-book, b-song, or b-video you want to mint. The maximum per print is ten million copies.

Step 14: Whitelist Users

This refers to whether you want some specific wallets to be pre-approved to acquire your product. You can insert these wallets at the specified places.

Whitelisting is especially good for airdrop. See EDAFACE NFT AIRDROPS.

Step 15: Social Media Links

For advertisement purposes, you may choose to link your literature to your website, social media platforms, portfolio link, etc., by typing in the links.

Step 16: Decide on Listing

When minting, you may choose one of the two options available for the display of your product:

(a). You may choose to leave the product in your EdaFace Account portfolio or transfer it to your wallet. In either of these two cases, only you will be able to see your minted b-book, b-song, or b-video. If you choose this option, you can later still display your product on the arena of EdaFace BCL.

(b). You may choose to display the minted product at once, possibly for sale, on the EdaFace BCL. If you choose this, you can later decide to withdraw your product from the arena.

If you want to put on sale the minted product by displaying it on the arena of EdaFace BCL for potential buyers to see, then enable “List NFT.”

Once you’ve enabled the List NFT, you will need to decide whether to "Put on Sale," in which case you will type in the price.

Step 17: Check the agreement boxes

EdaFace fights against any form of scams, including plagiarism. Therefore, read through the Terms and Conditions, and if you accept them, check the appropriate boxes that read:

● I declare that this is an original work. I understand that no plagiarism is allowed and that the asset can be removed anytime if detected.

● I have read and agree to all the NFT Terms & Conditions and all legal requirements of EDA.

Step 18: Create Item

When you have filled in all the parameters and accepted the Terms and Conditions, click on “Create Item.”

Once you have done so, a page will pop up for you to click on 2 or 3 different buttons as follows:

• Create NFT

Clicking on this button will make the connected wallet, via its Private Key, be authenticated as the owner of the uploaded Digital Product while simultaneously triggering blockchain smart contracts to add more unique identifiers to the product, thus producing a unique, verifiable asset.

• IPFS Upload

IPFS refers to the InterPlanetary File System, and it is where your product files will be stored for easy access. By clicking on this button, you will be uploading the metadata of your product to IPFS.

Step 19: Create Item

This button allows you to create and mint the uploaded Digital Product  (literature) in PDF and NFT card formats on the selected blockchain.

Congratulations on minting your b-book, b-song, or b-video.

Please Note:

(a). To view your minted product, click on “My Items” in your EdaFace account. “My Items” is accessible once your wallet is connected; you can access it by clicking on the wallet icon at the top right of your EdaFace Account.

(b). If you have selected List NFT, you can go to EdaFace BCL arena – Book, Song, or Video arena, depending on which category you have selected in Step 10 (d) above – to view your minted product displayed for sale.
