Minting Format for BCL

Posted on 2025-08-11 Updated on 2026-07-28

Welcome to EdaFace Mint.

You can mint your literature on the EdaFace Blockchain Literature (BCL). “Literature” here refers to videos, songs, books, certificates, documents, or any other literary content.

Please follow the EdaFace Minting Format presented here to be able to mint your literature successfully on the EdaFace BCL:

First Step: Prepare a Folder.

Note that EdaFace BCL allows a folder to be uploaded.

The folder must contain the files that you are minting, as well as an Excel File mentioned in the 2nd Step.

In all, four (4) files are required to be in the folder. These four files are as follows:

(1). Literature File.

This is the video, song, book, certificates, etc. that you want to mint.

The  video, song, book, certificate, etc. should have a File name, e.g., edabook

Supported File Format:

Audio: WAV, FLAC, MP3, WAV, FLAC, or SMP3

Book: PDF

Image (PDF): JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, or WEBP

Video: AAC, OGV, WEBM, MP4

Maximum file size: Fifty megabytes (50 mb).

(2). Preview File.

This is a free sample of your literature. It allows users to enjoy Free Reading Time (FRT) of your book, Free Listening Time (FLT) of your song, and Free Viewing Time (FVT) of your video.

The Preview File should have a File name, e.g., bookpreview.

Supported File Format: The same as your Literature File.

Maximum file size: Fifty megabytes (50 mb).

(3). Thumb File.

This is the background image for your song and video.

For publications like books, certificates, and documents, the Thumb File is their front page cover.  To design a professional front page cover for your publications, click here: EdaFace Cover Specifications.

Please note that if you don’t have a thumb file, EdaFace BCL will automatically create one for you on minting.

The Thumb File should have a File name, e.g., thumbfile.

Supported File Format: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, or WEBP.

Maximum file size: Fifty megabytes (50 mb).

(4). Excel File.

This is the file that has been mentioned in the 2nd Step.

Summary:

From the above discussion, it means that in the folder that you want to upload to EdaFace BCL must contain a Literature file and its Preview, a background file (thumbnail), and an Excel File that carries the summary of all the file details and the description of your work.

If you do not add a customized Thumbnail file as the background for your literature, EdaFace BCL will generate one automatically for you once you mint.

Second Step: Prepare Excel File.

The Excel File is the summary of the four files in Step 1 above and a description (properties) of your work.

Note the following while preparing the Excel File:

(1). The Excel File must have a File name, e.g., bookexcelfile.

(2). The Excel File format must be Microsoft Excel Worksheet (.xlsx).

(3). Each file and the work description must be in columns. Each column has a heading that MUST not be changed. The columns are as follows:

Column A: NFTName.

This column heading is "NFTName.

Please note that the column heading, "NFTName," is one word with no gap in between "NFT" and "Name."

In this column, below the heading, type in the name of your project, e.g., EDA Book.

Column B: File

This column heading is titled "File".

In this column, below its heading, type in the name of your literature file and its extension.

In this column, below its heading, type in the name of your Preview File and its extension.

The Preview file name and its extension must be the same as indicated in First Step (2), e.g., bookpreview.pdf

Column D: Thumb

This column heading is titled "Thumb".

In this column, below its heading, type in the name of your Thumbnail File and its extension.

The Thumbnail File name and its extension must be the same as indicated in First Step (3), e.g., thumbfile.png

Column E: Type

In this column, below its heading, type in the type of your literature you want to mint.
